Incense Sticks and Loose Incense
How to receive the benefits of incense without the cancer causing side effects: When any kind of incense is burned, it releases smoke full of carcinogens into your home. The only way to avoid this is to heat incense without actually burning it. I’ve found the best way to do this is to use an oil/wax warmer heated by a candle underneath. (The electric oil/wax warmers don’t seem to get hot enough to melt the resins that are found in most loose incense.) I have also found that adding water to the incense, while you’re heating it in the wax warmer helps distribute the scent farther and more evenly in the house. If you don’t want sticky resin in your wax warmer put a piece of aluminum foil in the dish before you heat the incense.
Kyphi Incense
Kyphi was offertory incense burned at dusk in the temples of ancient Egypt. The smell is extremely pleasant and my absolute favorite incense. The scent of this kyphi is sweet, with a honey undertone throughout. Kyphi brings to mind forgotten days of the past, creating a comforting space. As the frankincense recedes and the myrrh takes over, you can feel the shift from day to night that is associated with kyphi. The myrrh gives one the sensation of being comfortably safe, and the cinnamon at the close is purifying. When used at night, one awakens refreshed. Our Kyphi comes from a trusted source who uses only quality ingredients, and as much certified organic/environmentally conscious ingredients as possible.

Incense Sticks
Incense Sticks: Purist Aromas is proud to present a healthier choice in incense sticks. Our incense is free of charcoal, saltpeter and all those nasty synthetic fragrances they add to most incense. Ours is made with clean burning makko powder and organic aromatherapy essential oils. Unfortunately we did have to add a very small amount of preservative to keep toxic mold from growing in our incense sticks. Although our incense sticks can not be labelled as 100% all natural like the rest of our products, we would much rather have a small amount of something unnatural (but non-toxic) in our incense sticks, than sell you something with harmful mold. Because we do not use any synthetic fragrances our incense carries a much more natural scent and our sticks are best used within a month or two. Keep in a cool dark place out of direct sunlight and always keep the packaging closed. Instructions: Light end and blow out until tip burns red. Set in incense holder and let burn.
